'What's
with the name?' we're often asked. To cut a long story short, the name
Bui Bolg originates in the nickname that Wexford men have borne with pride
since the nineteenth century, when they steamed their way to hurling victory
while wearing distinctive yellow sashes. They were known as the 'yellow
bellies'. True to our anarchic form, however, we inverted the wording;
Bui Bolg literally translates as 'belly yellow'! And we like it that way!
