Bui
Bolg runs a weekly youth arts programme for people aged between 13 and
20. The young people who take part in Bui Bolg Youth Group* study circus
and performance skills as well as a range of performance-related arts
and crafts skills. They perform throughout Ireland and beyond in a variety
of performance contexts.
Youth
Group meets up to three times weekly. It is completely free of charge
to our members and enjoys the participation of young people from a diverse
and multi-cultural sector of the Wexford community. At Bui Bolg, we think
of Youth Group as a way of giving something back to the community that
has done so much to support us.
As
well as Youth Group, we have lots of experience in delivering Community
Arts programmes in schools, arts centres and community centres. We have
worked with groups of young and not-so-young to come up with special events
to celebrate many occasions. Two recent successes were the Oylegate Community
Project and the opening of the Bealtaine Festival, 2007.
